Oh my goodness! The Mount Dora Art Stroll was a complete success!! Thank you so much to Artisans on 5th and the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce for allowing me to provide my Cake Pops for this amazing event!  I handed out more than 100 business cards, and more than 150 Cake Pops were devoured!  To say that the guests at this event loved them, would be an understatement! I got such great reviews, it made my heart so happy to hear how much people liked them! Not only did I have an amazing night, I also was invited by Catherine from the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce to participate in another incredible event: The Taste in Mount Dora on May 22, 2011!  As a non chamber member and the fact that it is way past the cut off date, this is the opportunity of a lifetime! So, my dear friends, as of today, I have joined the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce, and will be one of 8 participants at the 10th Annual Taste in Mount Dora!!!!!!  To say that I am excited would be an underst...

Cake Pops

While searching the internet for new and exciting things to try, I came upon a great website. www.bakearella.com and on that website are things she calls cakepops! I was hooked immediately! I made some for a friends birthday, dark chocolate mocha cake with coffee buttercream. When the waiter brought them out, everyone in the place was looking. I made about 140 of them, half were chocolate cake with dark chocolate icing and the other half were yellow cake with vanilla icing. All the guests were intrigued by this new way to eat cake. They were an absolute hit! Next week Downtown Mount Dora has their artist stroll and I was asked to make more cake pops! This time I think I will add in red velvet cake pops. I am so excited about all these new opportunities to further my portfolio and to ...

The Holy Land Experience Christmas Party Cake

Wow! This sucker was huge!  I had so much fun making this cake, but it was such a challenge to get it done. Between decorating and covering this cake in fondant, and helping my husband manage a moving sale we were having that morning, I got it done. I bought an 18" round cake pan and it didn't even fit in my oven (I used a towel to cover the oven and keep the heat in while it baked), and it didn't fit in my fridge once I put one layer of fondant on it! I ended up putting the cake in a box in the garage - thank you God, it was freezing cold outside (47 degrees fahrenheit) that day and I could do that. The cake was four different flavors (biggest to smallest): vanilla pound cake with vanilla icing and red and green morsels for filling; red velvet with cream cheese icing and filling; gluten free dark chocolate cake with andes mint mousse filling and vanilla icing; and carrot cake with cream cheese icing and filling.  The cake was a huge success! Miss Jan loved it! It was al...
