Cake Pops

While searching the internet for new and exciting things to try, I came upon a great website. www.bakearella.com and on that website are things she calls cakepops!
I was hooked immediately! I made some for a friends birthday, dark chocolate mocha cake with coffee buttercream. When the waiter brought them out, everyone in the place was looking. And when we started eating them they were surprised. They looked like a bouquet of some kind.
Next my mom asked me to make some for her artist of the month reception at Arisans on 5th in Mount Dora. I made about 140 of them, half were chocolate cake with dark chocolate icing and the other half were yellow cake with vanilla icing. All the guests were intrigued by this new way to eat cake. They were an absolute hit!
Next week Downtown Mount Dora has their artist stroll and I was asked to make more cake pops! This time I think I will add in red velvet cake pops.
I am so excited about all these new opportunities to further my portfolio and to let Mount Dora know I am here and ready to succeed in this beautiful place.

Wow! This sucker was huge!  I had so much fun making this cake, but it was such a challenge to get it done. Between decorating and covering this cake in fondant, and helping my husband manage a moving sale we were having that morning, I got it done. I bought an 18" round cake pan and it didn't even fit in my oven (I used a towel to cover the oven and keep the heat in while it baked), and it didn't fit in my fridge once I put one layer of fondant on it! I ended up putting the cake in a box in the garage - thank you God, it was freezing cold outside (47 degrees fahrenheit) that day and I could do that. My boys and I already practically live at the studio, we are there 5 days a week just for their regular classes; but now that we are 3 weeks away from our Spring Performance of "Snow White", my boys have added rehearsals. Mom Bod Overhall

I am a mom. My body shows the track marks of carrying two babies to term.  My weight is not what it once was before these precious gifts from God. It is time to change that, to put myself first for an hour or so a day. My babies are not babies anymore, they are teenagers now, on the cusp of manhood. Where did the time go? It feels like just yesterday that I was holding them in my arms, breathing in their baby smell, watching them sleep. I always put my family first, that is what a wife and stay at home mom does. But it is time that I get healthy and happy with my body again.  Don’t get me wrong, my body is amazing, it is a survivor, a fighter and I am immensely proud of that.  However, my body has become the “Mom Bod” that I hoped it never would.
