Pool Party Frog Cupcakes

Image
My mom is a member of a quilting group that calls themselves "The Frogs".  I have become a member as well, and these ladies are some of the most caring and funny group of women I have ever come across.   Last week, it was one of The Frogs's birthday, so I was asked to supply the cake.  The only requirement? It had to be chocolate!  The party was going to be a pool party, so I knew that I wanted a casual feel to the cake, thus cupcakes! What you see below are my cute Pool Party Frog Cupcakes! They are Dark Chocolate Cake with Marshmallow Buttercream and topped with a cute frog face inside a pool ring (both made out of fondant).  I had so much fun making them and all the "Frog Ladies" thought they were just the cutest thing! Happy Birthday Kat! Pool Party Frog Cupcakes

More Cake Pops

Okay everyone, Cake Pops are the newest hottest thing in the Cake Decorating Industry.  Mine have been a huge hit here in Mount Dora.  I still have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming. It is still so unreal. Just so all of you know, I am going to debut new flavors (plus some of the old favorites) and all new-never before seen-designs!  It is going to be incredible!  If you want to see it in person, I would suggest you buy a ticket for the 10th Annual Taste in Mount Dora at www.mountdora.com and go to the online store. In the meantime I have been a busy little bee and testing out some new designs.  One of which I did with the help of my Cake Pop book by Bakearella.  She is fabulous!  The set of Cake Pops below, I did for two friends who are new Premier Designs Sales People and were having their first sales party.  I am told that my Cake Pops were a huge hit!  They were a lot of work, but as you can see they were fantastic! The next set of Cake Pops that I did were for

Success!!!

Oh my goodness! The Mount Dora Art Stroll was a complete success!! Thank you so much to Artisans on 5th and the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce for allowing me to provide my Cake Pops for this amazing event!  I handed out more than 100 business cards, and more than 150 Cake Pops were devoured!  To say that the guests at this event loved them, would be an understatement! I got such great reviews, it made my heart so happy to hear how much people liked them! Not only did I have an amazing night, I also was invited by Catherine from the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce to participate in another incredible event: The Taste in Mount Dora on May 22, 2011!  As a non chamber member and the fact that it is way past the cut off date, this is the opportunity of a lifetime! So, my dear friends, as of today, I have joined the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce, and will be one of 8 participants at the 10th Annual Taste in Mount Dora!!!!!!  To say that I am excited would be an understatement! God is so

Cake Pops

While searching the internet for new and exciting things to try, I came upon a great website. www.bakearella.com and on that website are things she calls cakepops! I was hooked immediately! I made some for a friends birthday, dark chocolate mocha cake with coffee buttercream. When the waiter brought them out, everyone in the place was looking. And when we started eating them they were surprised. They looked like a bouquet of some kind. Next my mom asked me to make some for her artist of the month reception at Arisans on 5th in Mount Dora. I made about 140 of them, half were chocolate cake with dark chocolate icing and the other half were yellow cake with vanilla icing. All the guests were intrigued by this new way to eat cake. They were an absolute hit! Next week Downtown Mount Dora has their artist stroll and I was asked to make more cake pops! This time I think I will add in red velvet cake pops. I am so excited about all these new opportunities to further my portfolio and to
